Hello!

The gospel is the good news about Jesus Christ and His work. All people need to hear this message and respond to it rightly. Please watch this video and consider what you learn with care. May God grant you understanding and insight into the person and work of Christ!

Who is God? What's God like? God is the creator of all things. The Bible says, “in the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth.” He created me and He created you. So He is the creator and owner of everything. The Bible also says that “for His invisible attributes, namely His eternal power and His divine nature have been clearly perceived ever since the creation of the world.” Part of what we understand about His divine nature is that He's holy, meaning that He's perfect and pure. For example, God is light and there is no darkness in Him at all. So the prophet Isaiah says, “holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. All the earth is filled with His glory.” So now we know that God is holy and He is the Creator. Now we need to know that God expects us to live a certain way. This leads into our next point about sinful man.

Sin is rebellion against God, or “sin is lawlessness,” as the Bible says. So, for example, when you fail to do what is right or when you do what is wrong, either way, both of those are sin. Just to be clear, all of us sin, “for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” And so I'm going to ask you, have you ever lied before? Have you ever stolen? Have you ever disobeyed your parents? Have you taken God's name in vain? That means you're taking God's name and using it as a filth word. Those are all sins. In the book of Romans it tells us that “none is righteous. No, not one. No one understands. And no one seeks for God.” The Bible also tells us that "the wages of sin is death.” And so God takes sin so seriously that He gives us all the death penalty. He gives us all capital punishment because of our sins. So not only do you die in this life, but in the life to come, which means that you'd be under God's wrath in hell forever. And so this is where we'll transition to our third point of the good news of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. One of His disciples, Peter, said this to him, “you are the Christ (meaning the Messiah, meaning the Savior of the world) you are the son of the living God.” And so Jesus Christ, throughout His earthly ministry, He proved that He is the Son of God. One of the ways that Jesus Christ proved that He is the Son of God is because He did signs and miracles and wonders that no one has seen since the creation of the world. And another way is by living the perfect, sinless, righteous life. A life that I will never live and a life that you will never live. The Bible says, “for we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” So Jesus, the only righteous man to ever live, He didn't deserve to go to the cross, but he went there to save His people. On that cross Jesus paid for the sins of His people, and He did that by suffering the wrath that I deserve and the wrath that you deserve. Jesus Christ took the wrath of God and died in the place of sinners. The Bible says, “for our sake, He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him (that's Christ) we might become the righteousness of God.” So in other words, Jesus paid the death penalty for sinners. This is where we see the love of God. God's love is shown to us on the cross in that “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus Christ said “it is finished.” That the sin debt had been paid. And then He was buried, they put Him in a tomb and He was resurrected three days later, and He defeated sin, death and hell. And He proved that He is the Savior. And right now Jesus Christ is ruling and reigning in heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He intercedes for His people.

Now, you also need to know that this good news comes with a command, and the command is to repent and believe to be saved. So what is repentance? Repentance is turning from sin toward God. Think of it as doing a one-eighty. The Bible says, “let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to the Lord that He may have compassion (or mercy) on Him.” This leads into faith. Faith comes with repentance. You're putting your faith in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. You're not putting your faith or trust in your good works or your intentions. You're not putting it in your parents or anyone else. You're putting it in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Just like Abraham did in the Old Testament. In Genesis 15:6 it says, “Abraham believed God (that means that he trusted in God) and it was counted to him as righteousness.” I want to remind you that this is not just a suggestion. This is not just good advice. This is the truth about what God has said. And the truth is that whoever believes in the Son will have eternal life. But I also need to warn you, the one who does not obey the Son shall not see life. But the wrath of God remains on Him. So, my friends, there's an urgency here to get right with God. James says that “our lives are just vapors.” We're here one minute and gone the next, and none of us know when we're going to die. That's why it's vital to get right with God today. So my question for you, before you leave this video is, will you repent and believe upon Jesus Christ or will you remain under the wrath of God? I would urge you to get right with God, that you would cry out to God. So that means that you pray to Jesus. Tell Him that you're repenting and you're putting your faith in Him alone. The Bible says, “for everyone that calls upon the name of the Lord, they will be saved.” That's God's promise. And then, God's plan is that you would grow through the local church where other Christians can love on you, pray for you, encourage you, and disciple you. I pray that God will use this to bring you to repentance and faith. May you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and come to know Him and love Him.
